Alphonse Island News – New Year!

Alphonse Island is known as a destination which provides amazing fishing opportunities week after week and year after year.  During the festive season it’s a place teeming with various activity as family groups done our shores to share in these special times.

This year we were at full capacity with 50 guests celebrating not only their great catches but amazing dives and adventures. Santa even turned up and although he missed the ‘big boys’ who were off fishing St Francois, he did make Christmas a memorable one for all the kids.

There were flats lunches on both Christmas and New Year’s day, group snorkels and adventures, the restaurant and bar were festive in the evenings and the pool was filled with kids having a great time during the day.

The fishing continued with a run of good size GTs, the triggerfishing was better than it has been all year and the milkfish turned up to abuse our tackle.  There were big bonefish caught on the white sand flats, the permit were in the mood and the bluewater fishing was incredible.

The festive season couldn’t have got any better when 2014 ended with a milkfish and the New Year started with a permit!
