So, we got there in the end!

Welcome to the new, enhanced Fish and Fly.

As many of you have been aware, this re-launch has been some time in the making.

I took up fly fishing in the mid-90s and search for a website where I could share my love of fly-fishing with similar minded people. I couldn’t find such a site so in 1998 I launched Fish & Fly.

I’ve been staggered by the success of the site. During the last five years I have received dozens of emails from passionate fly fisherman suggesting ways of developing the content. And we’ve helped develop one of the busiest fly fishing forums on the web.

Fish & Fly has grown in popularity over the years and it was at the end of 2005 that I decided to develop the site further.

I had struggled to find the resources to carry out the development I had in mind, but with the support and encouragement of John Bailey and Richard Hewitt, I’m confident that we’ll soon re-establish Fish & Fly as an essential (if not the first) stop on your online travels.

John’s involvement has been inspirational. We’re now working with some of the most knowledgeable fly anglers across the globe - experts in their fields and passionate about fly fishing.

So, what’s changed?

Well, we’ve got a growing team of contributors and we’ll be covering aspects of fly fishing that we’ve not touched before. The breadth and depth of their expertise will educate and excite even the most experienced fly fishermen.

And we now have a membership option which will give you access to additional editorial content, member-only events and a range of discounts, late availability and other benefits.

But we’ll still be publishing plenty of content that’s accessible to all - in fact, probably more than the we’ve ever published before. I’m working through the importing of all of the old Fish & Fly content - which will eventually appear within the archives here.

Supporting Fish & Fly

Whilst plenty of our articles will remain free to view, I’m sure you will understand that creating such a high quality online publication costs both time and money. As the saying goes ‘you get what you pay for’ and I believed from the outset that this project was only worth undertaking if I could recruit the best… which I’m confident I have achieved.

Our membership option gives you access to additional editorial features – along with a growing range of exclusive offers, late availability deals and member-only events.

Two Free Gifts for Founder Members

To encourage you to join now, I’m running a limited introductory offer of £29.99 for a year’s membership, instead of £49.95.  That’s just £0.57p a week. And it gets better. Founder members will also receive just about all of their money back in the form of gifts. I have negotiated a deal that means early members receive a ‘no-strings’ £10 Sportfish voucher AND a free set of Fishpond clippers - worth £19.95.That is gifts worth £29.95 for a subscription of £29.99!

As I write this message I realise that we're just at the start of what will become exciting times - not just for the Fish & Fly team, but for all of our visitors.

As ever, please do drop me a line if you'd like to suggest some content for the site - we're always pleased to hear from you.

Here's to the future of Fish & Fly!
