Appearance and first thoughts
It never ceases to amaze me that many of the flyfishermen I meet have not changed their flyline for several years and are content to use a line that is showing its age with fine cracks in the coating and floating poorly. If you fall into this category maybe its time to treat yourself to a new good quality line, it could add yards to your cast.
Take a look at the new for 2007 GRXi Series lines from Hardy & Greys Ltd.
This GRXi Floating Peach WF line has a nice smooth self lubricating blemish free coating built on a supple braided Dacron core to reduce tangling and remain memory free and durable. The Peach colour is more of a warm deep yellow rather than a pale orange.
Performance & Opinion
With so many line profiles and tapers available these days where do you start to choose? Some extreme WF tapers available will only suit anglers that can maintain high line speed by double hauling, others have extended front tapers for delicacy.
Not so with the GRXi, the WF taper is a medium head length design of 37’ that will suit anglers of all abilities, the turnover is excellent and the fine front taper ensures the leader unfurls and lands neatly.
