Photo from left to right:  Noel Carr from Ireland , Marc-Adrien Marcellier from France and Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, President of Iceland.Two distinguished European salmon conservationists have been presented with the Order of the Falcon by the President of Iceland in Reykjavik . They are Noel Carr, who lives in County Donegal, Ireland, and Marc-Adrien Marcellier, the French director of the North Atlantic Salmon Fund.

Marc-Adrien has been one of NASF's leading workers for the last 14 years and is particularly active in liaising closely with the French authorities. A board member of the Association Internationale de Defense du Saumon Atlantique (AIDSA). Marc-Adrien is an international angler who lives in Paris with his wife Marie-Pierre and daughter Alix.

Noel Carr has been a key figure in Irish angling circles for many years and is a leading salmon conservationist. He is national secretary of the Federation of Irish Salmon and Sea Trout Anglers. FISSTA was a founding member of the North Atlantic Salmon Fund and the organisation has long been a front runner in the campaign to reform the Irish Salmon industry. Noel is a member of the Irish National Salmon Commission. He lives at Glencolmcille, near Carrick, with his wife Frances and daughter Mary Kate.
