Knighthood for Salmon Conservationists

Two distinguished European salmon conservationists have been presented with the Order of the Falcon by the President of Iceland in Reykjavik . They are Noel Carr, who lives in County Donegal, Ireland, and Marc-Adrien Marcellier, the French director of the North Atlantic Salmon Fund.
Marc-Adrien has been one of NASF's leading workers for the last 14 years and is particularly active in liaising closely with the French authorities. A board member of the Association Internationale de Defense du Saumon Atlantique (AIDSA). Marc-Adrien is an international angler who lives in Paris with his wife Marie-Pierre and daughter Alix.
Noel Carr has been a key figure in Irish angling circles for many years and is a leading salmon conservationist. He is national secretary of the Federation of Irish Salmon and Sea Trout Anglers. FISSTA was a founding member of the North Atlantic Salmon Fund and the organisation has long been a front runner in the campaign to reform the Irish Salmon industry. Noel is a member of the Irish National Salmon Commission. He lives at Glencolmcille, near Carrick, with his wife Frances and daughter Mary Kate.
