Fishing Breaks, the leading letting agent on the chalkstreams of southern England, has once again stolen a march on the competition with streaming video presentations of their top 20 beats available at the click of a mouse from comprehensive Fishing Breaks web site.

Speaking on the day the clips went ‘live’ Fishing Breaks Founder & Managing Director Simon Cooper, explained why he felt the new service was so important to add a new dimension to buying a day‘s fishing:
Simon CooperThe internet is fast becoming the primary way to book fishing and Fishing Breaks was one of the first to recognise this; but competition is fierce. Ten years ago a simple web site with some photos & prices was enough to draw customers, but now you have to deliver more.
Potential clients crave information and that’s a good thing. The more we can help anglers pick the right beat the more likely they are to enjoy the day & come back to us another time. Over the years we have added more photos, more information, maps, links, ratings & feedback to the site but the video was always the ultimate aim. However, we had to wait for technology to catch up with widespread access to broadband & user-friendly internet video streaming technology
.”

The twenty clips were filmed in High Definition format last summer by a video production company from Hertfordshire who spent two weeks following the clients & Fishing Guides around 50 miles of rivers in Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset & Berkshire.
The result is twenty short films of one-to-two minutes that show each river, the fishing & the surrounding countryside, with a commentary that captures the magic of a beautiful summer’s day on a chalkstream. The technology works seamlessly on any home or work PC. Simply click on the PLAY VIDEO and sit back to watch.
Getting the clips on the site has been a long & expensive process, but I am certain that it’s an investment that will be repaid many times over”, said Simon Cooper. “It has taken eight months from start to finish and we weren’t helped by the wettest summer on record that put back filming by two months. But the result is a fantastic way to tell the story of great rivers & it’s as close as you get to’ try before you buy’ in the letting business."

The video service will be followed in March 2008 by a complete on-line booking system, similar to that used to book airline tickets. Fishing Breaks clients will be able to check availability, book, pay & receive confirmation instructions & maps with a few clicks of the mouse. The system is so sophisticated that bookings will even be able to be made on the day itself with the local river keeper alerted by text!
