Last chance to register for Macmillan Cancer Support’s Big Fish
Hundreds of anglers will descend on fisheries around Scotland this Saturday (June 14) to win a share of £9000 in a charity fishing contest.
The fly fishermen and women will be hoping to reel in one of 27 cash prizes as part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s Big Fish. They will also have the chance to win a day of fishing with actor and fishing show tv presenter, Paul Young. Macmillan hopes to raise over £40,000 from the popular fly fishing event to provide vital services for people with cancer.
Registration
Anyone keen to take part can register by visiting www.macmillan.org.uk/thebigfish, emailing fishing@macmillan.org.uk or calling 0800 064 9999. Registrations will also be taken on the day.
Macmillan fundraising manager David Grout, said: "The Big Fish is a fantastic event for anglers. Not only do they get to take part in a sport they enjoy, they can raise money for charity, and might even walk away with a cash prize – and there's more chance to win this year because there are more prizes up for grabs than ever before.
“The Big Fish is also a great event for people who just want to try something different while raising money for charity. They'll have a great day and help Macmillan raise thousands of pounds for people affected by cancer. "
The Big Fish is taking place in nine fisheries across Scotland. At each venue four fish will be tagged, with three worth a different cash sum totalling £1000, and one booby prize. There will also be prizes for the heaviest bag of fish and the biggest fish. The angler who brings along the most sponsorship money on the day of the event will win a day of fishing with Paul Young.
