Great start for Norway’s Orkla. Special Fish&Fly part-week offer! The season's total at Vegard Heggem’s Aunan lodge on the Orkla is now 24 salmon with an average weight of 17.2 pounds. Fish&Fly has been offered an exclusive deal where 6 fishers can enjoy a half week on the superb Aunan beat in July for a bargain price. A perfect opportunity to sample this magnificent river in splendid surroundings with Vegard’s top class hospitality. Yesterday, a fantastic cock fish was landed at the Aunan beat that measured 107 cm, and due to its amazing girth was estimated to weigh 12,5 kilos (27.5 pounds). The fish took the fly on the tail end of Igdhølen, and the lucky fisher with this the biggest fish at Aunan so far was Stian Gundersen. The fish was returned safely.
A little later in the evening UK rod Tom Marshall hooked a fine, slightly smaller, hen fish estimated at 12 kilos before it was carefully released. Two wonderful salmon from the evening fishing, on a day that has been really quiet before dinner. The water temperature has dropped to 8 degrees Celcius, and this was our excuse for the lack of action. But tonight's amazing result shows that you can never know with salmon....! There are six rods available for Fish & Fly Members from: Wed 9 July to Sun 13 July
The package includes:
