US fly-fishers who enjoy angling trips which provide a little exhilaration might consider making an excursion to one of the many trout streams in Colorado.

Writing for Newsok.com, Hal McKnight has described the high degree of difficulty experienced in attempting to cast a fly while charging down the Gunnison River in south-west Colorado.

According to Mr McKnight, the excitement is such that the fly-fishing becomes more akin to a surfing extravaganza.

The Gunnison is also famed for possessing some of the very best rainbow and brown trout and the fly-fishing enthusiast described how one of the most profitable techniques was to seek out accuracy rather than distance when fly-casting.

Mr McKnight also described how stoneflies which hatch rise above the waterways during a two or thee-week period in June, consequently created a scene which appears to be like "thousands of diamonds in the sky".
