On a trip out to Milbanke Sound in beautiful British Columbia last autumn, editor Paul Sharman was not the only "frequent flyer" on the plane. His Orvis 7-piece travel rod was also tucked safely away with inshore rockfish the hopeful targets when he had time to break away from shooting a feature for the USA's 'Sport Fishing' magazine.

Editor Paul Sharman took a change from the norm and went south on a recent visit to Belize, away from the busy resorts and lodges in the north to the "Forgotten Land" of the south as the locals call it.

The three of us trekked down a tiny country road. On our left, the open ocean beckoned in the late day sun; while to our right - beyond a stonewall- cattle grazed quietly in a field. It was a peaceful scene. Continuing along, we eventually came to an old wooden gate, whose edges were laced with barbed wire. In single file each of us slowly slipped around it, holding our fly rod high, while being careful not to snag our waders. Then we headed to the water.
