Charles Rangeley-Wilson will be familiar to you from his BBC series - 'The Accidental Angler'. This new movie following his exploits in trying to track down his dream fish - a double-figure Bahamian bonefish - is from the other end of the production scale. One fisherman, one cameraman and a one big adventure in the outlying islands of the Bahamas, interacting with the locals and including a big slice of local culture along the way.

We already shared news of this new movie from "Chasing Silver" producer Jamie Howard back in June along with the first trailer - now check out this second selection of clips for more action from the California Delta of this brilliant new film covering fly fishing and regular fishing for that enigmatic US icon - the largemouth black bass!

Fish&Fly contributor Vegard Heggem, owner of the Aunan beat on the Orkla in Norway, just sent us this video of Tarquin Millington Drake of Frontiers International releasing a very nice salmon of 30lb or so he caught this morning.

Last week Tarquin was fishing on the Alta where Mollie Fitzgerald, owner of Frontiers, caught salmon of 22lb, 35lb and 54lb in one night. We are not surprised Tarquin fled south!

HowardFilms, the US based producers that first brought us the beautifully shot short film called "In Search of a Rising Tide" about Bahamian bonefish, and then the critically acclaimed "Chasing Silver", "Location X" and "Chasing Silver - Andy's Return" series that brought top-class tarpon fishing to our tv screens, are now working on their follow-up project.

"Bass: The Movie" is in production now with plans to release it in the Autumn of 2008 and we have the hot news on this to share with you all including their first trailer to give a taste of the action.

Back in January of this year we brought you two trailers for films that were supporting the campaign against the Pebble Mine and other mining claims in the headwaters of the Bristol Bay area of Alaska. This near pristine wilderness area as you may know or remember is home to the largest run of red salmon in the world, truly one of natures great spectacles, as well as the famous trophy rainbow trout known as "Leopards" due to their amazing full coat of well-defined spots.

A coalition of environmental agencies backed by huge support from major fishing companies and the public is fighting these plans on the grounds that it is an environmental disaster in the making and once one claim is approved it would set a precedent for more. This in turn would lead to the inevitable pollution problems and the possibility of destroying one of earth's last great natural self-sustaining fisheries.

"Mister Jim" is how the employees respectfully addressed their boss Jim Hardy, the last Hardy to work in the family business and now retired. It was Jim's Grandfather and Great Uncle who in 1873 opened a small shop in the far north of England. Both passionate fishermen, they invented fishing tackle and it began to sell. Kings, Queens and Maharajahs were on their books and the name Hardy's has now been synonymous with fishing for 130 years.

In their film "The Lost World of Mr Hardy", filmmakers Andy Heathcote and Heiki Bachelier set out to show how a small company from the tiny town of Alnwick managed to capture the hearts and minds of anglers the world over and they have certainly done it justice. We have a trailer from the DVD inside for you to watch and our review of what we think will become a classic.
