Greetings and Salutations one and all from the bountiful Metropolis of Charles City, Iowa!

I am, in the proper vernacular, a rank beginner to the world of fly fishing. I was just re-introduced to the sport, and have become enthralled. I cannot recall why I was so put off by it in my youth, but now my attitude is completely different.

The section of Iowa, in which I live, is ripe with small rivers and streams, and I am within an hour of prime trout water. I have been dutifully practicing my casts, and my knots (oddly enough the old Boy Scout in me recalls most of the knots quite readily), and preparing for my next trip to the Winnebago or Cedar river.

I am looking forward to getting to know the other members here, and gleen what I can from their collective and shared knowledge.
