Scottish comedian and actor Billy (“The Big Yin”) opened the river Dee at the official ceremony at Milton of Crathes yesterday (Feb 1, 2010). And up and down the river the first flies of the season were cast. 21 springers were reported on the first day which is a great start for the Dee. The biggest fish was 15lb from the Little Blackhall & Inchmarlo beat. Kingausie beat scored very well with 7 salmon. Considering that no fish were caught on this beat in February last year they will be well pleased!
