Re: Thames Salmon Heading Home
There seems to be a view that these fish are strays from other rivers rather than genuine Thames fish.
I wonder if there is any evidence of salmon spawning in the Thames in recent years?
Would be great to see Salmon back in abundance on the Thames!

Re: Thames Salmon Heading Home
These fish are almost as nice as the salmon that I caught from Shepperton Weir (river Thames) last September. I caught this fish on a lob worm cast right into the water under the weir and it fought like a demon and took 15 minutes to land. The fish was not tagged & I have not read or heard about any other salmon caught on the Thames in 2012 with a rod & line. Apologies for not using a fly to catch it but I am a coarse fisherman! I am interested to know if any other anglers have caught a salmon from the Thames in recent years.
