No of fish 10lbs +: 3 (10 - 19lbs)

Grilse: 7

Weather: Continuing strong winds and much colder temperatures than previous 10 days.

Comments: With the water temperature warmer than the air it was far from ideal fishing conditions. Howling wind made it hard to present a fly. This colder weather should bring water temperatures down to hopefully change the mood of the fish.

Tuesday 3 July 2012:

Air Temperature: 8 - 18 ℃

Water Temperature: 16 ℃

Water Height: -20 cms

Number of rods: 16

Number of fish caught: 16

No of fish 20lbs +: 2 (20-29lbs)

No of fish 10lbs +: 7 (10 - 19lbs)

Grilse: 7

Weather: A sunny start with cumulus cloud. A very strong downstream wind making casting next to impossible on a couple of pools.

Comments: A tough day on the river given wind conditions. The team are fishing intermediates and light sink tips with a steadily dropping river and warm water. Favoured flies are Willie Gunn and Cascade style flies. The Grilse will happily take a Scaramanga on a full floater. Sizes: 1" tubes or long tailed 5s and 7s.

Weather: Bright with cloud cover in the morning changing to overcast and rain showers in the afternoon evening. A stiff downstream wind most of the day.

Comments: Much more like fishing weather at last! The results of the day back this up with all beats producing fish. Plenty of running fish have been seen in Lyliok. 3 people landed their first Atlantic salmon and congratulations to Bernd for his largest fish, a 26lber. Matt and Trevor both lost lost fish of size....

Weather: Saturday was incredible sunny weather to fly into camp. Despite bright sun, conditions were favourable with a light wind.

Comments: Sunday saw two fishermen, Bill and Ken, catch their first Atlantic Salmon. There have been many more running fish seen today, very encouraging for the coming week. The grilse seem to be arriving too although Toti landed a mint fresh hen fish of 33lbs. The big fish are still coming.......Watch this space!
