South American Fly Fishing Season

Even though it is impossible to say exactly how the season is going to plan out some things are for certain: The fishing will at times be tricky but more often immensily rewarding! The guides are among the best in the world and knows the river like the back of their hand. The lodge will provide top notch food, a homely and relaxing  environment with nights full of stories and laughter, and the staff will do everything in thir power to make sure everyone of our guests have nothing but praise to say about the lodge when they come back home.

But if we focus on only the fishing there are some very interesting facts to look at for this season: While the last two seasons has seen low water levels due to a lack of snow in the mountains, this winter on the other hand has been hard and the mountains are full of snow. This means that we can expect a good run of fish hitting the river already early in the season and this also means big runs of fish that will stay in the river for the whole season! These are the same conditions as we had 2007 which to date is still our best season ever! That season we had an average fish size of 13 lbs with the biggest reaching 28 lbs! Do we need to say that we are quite anxious to get the season started!

If you still haven’t booked your spot but are keen to fish Rio Gallegos in what we predict to be fantastic conditions, then please contact us ASAP and we will let you know what rods are still available.

See you in Argentina!
