Potential New Women’s Tippet Record Pink Salmon

American angler Julia Bell caught and released this beautiful 1.47 kg (3 lb 4 oz) pink salmon (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha) on August 10th that could become the new women’s 2 kg (4 lb) tippet class world record.

Bell was fly fishing Alaska’s Unalakleet River with local guide Taylor Hess, and skillfully played the potential record salmon for five minutes before it could be landed.

If approved, the catch will become the new women’s 2 kg (4 lb) tippet class record, which is currently vacant.
