It was a very tightly contested match at Draycote Water this past weekend at the finals of the Anglers World Fly Fishing Championships with just a few ounces separating the top 3 Anglers.
Gareth Evans however prevailed and is the new 2017 Anglers World Champion with 11 fish weighing 22:11 – well done Gareth!
Meanwhile the 2016 Champion, Wayne Jones, had 11 fish for 22:10 and fellow Welsh International angler Gareth Jones had 11 for 22:09.
Congratulations must go also to Ian Gaskell who won our £500 FishandFly leaderboard award for the most fish caught during the Championships with a total of 67 trout.
The cheque was presented by John Stephenson of FishandFly Ltd.
